The Nelson G. Hogg papers consists of materials from 1940-2002, with the bulk dating from 1972-2002, documenting Hogg's work at MIT, NIO, and WHOI. Also included are papers generated by Henry Stommel including a draft of The Sea of the Beholder. The collection, divided into four series, consists of correspondence, publications, cruise logs and datasets, and Henry Stommel's manuscript of The Sea of the Beholder.
The James R. Luyten papers, dating from 1952 to 1993, consist of materials pertaining to the life of Henry M. Stommel. Luyten worked closely with Stommel on many different projects, which are represented by the correspondence and drafts of reports and book chapters contained in this collection.
