Biographical Information
Werner G. Deuser, a Scientist Emeritus in the
Department of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry, was born October 31, 1935 in
Dusseldorf, Germany. He received his Vordiplom in Geology from the
University of Bonn (1957), and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Geochemistry from
Pennsylvania State University (1961; 1963). He worked as a Consulting Geochemist and Senior Research Scientist at
Nuclide Corporation from 1961-1966, and as a Research Scientist for the
Geological Survey of West Germany from 1963-1964 before coming to WHOI in 1966. His research interests include stable-isotope geochemistry, rates and mechanisms of deep-sea sedimentation, temporal variability in the deep sea, paleoclimatology, and chemistry of oxygen-deficient marine and limnic environments.

Custodial History
The papers were kept by Werner Deuser at his home prior to their donation to the Archives. Material from acc2013-08 was in Deuser's office in the Clark building prior to their donation to the archives.

Received in two accessions (acc.2009-13 and 2009-17) from Werner Deuser in March 2009, and a third accession (acc.2013-08) in 2013.
