Biographical / Historical
Jonathan Leiby was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 14, 1934. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1958 with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Leiby joined the staff at WHOI in the fall of 1959, and was responsible for the design of conversions and alterations of the existing fleet and design of new construction.
