Photographs and Negatives, 1947-1972

 Series

Scope and Content Note

The series consists of photographs taken by Jan Hahn, and include both prints and negatives. The images chronicle WHOI's post-war transitions to the participation in the first of the joint international programs, such as GEO-SECS. Hahn photographed WHOI's ships, aircraft, waterfront, buildings, science, events, visitors, the Woods Hole and Falmouth communities, and foreign ports.

Most of the photographs in the collection have been scanned and added to WHOI's Image Source Database. Search the database with the term "Jan Hahn collection" to find the photographs that have been scanned. William Dunkle also created a print index to the photographs in January 1993.
