Salt Marsh, 1954-1975

 Series

Scope and Content Note

This series reflects Redfield's investigations into salt marshes, especially the Barnstable Salt Marsh and the Great Sippewissett Salt Marsh, culminating in such notable works as "The age of salt marsh peat and its relation to recent changes in sea level at Barnstable, Massachusetts", "The thermal regime in salt marsh peat at Barnstable, Massachusetts", and "The development of a New England salt marsh."

In addition to correspondence, notes, charts, graphs, plots, calculations, data, and draft manuscripts, this series includes a computer analysis of water flow through salt marshes.
