Scope and Content Note
The series contains a Bird Squid (Ornithoteuthes antillensis) collected by Dick Backus on a cruise, probably dating from the 1970s. The squid was identified by John Wormuth of Texas A&M, and was held in the Texas A&M Department of Biology collection until its donation to the WHOI Archives.
