Biographical Note

David A. Ross, a marine geologist whose scientific interest focused on the geology and geophysics of marginal seas, came to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in 1965 following the completion of his Ph.D. at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. His bachelor's degree is from the City College of New York, and he holds a master's degree from the University of Kansas. In 1977 Ross was named Sea Grant Coordinator for WHOI, and in 1980, he was appointed Director of the Institution's Marine Policy and Ocean Management Program.
