Scope and Content Note

This series contains information and research on various fish species, harbor porpoises (Phocena phocena), and pilot whales. Files correspond to research created and gathered by Jim Craddock and his colleagues Richard Backus, Andrew Read, and Damon Gannon. Materials in this series that contain informational value about the various species include identification keys, illustrations, notes, and printed articles. A large portion of the series pertains to research conducted by Jim Craddock concerning the food habits of harbor porpoises. Materials from this subject include stomach contents data sheets, notes, manuscripts, reports, and articles. Other materials represented in the collection include correspondence to and from Craddock about various species, assorted manuscripts, proposals, and information and data from various geographic locations, including the Gulf of Maine.
