The papers consist of nine notebooks kept by David Hosom when he worked as an electrical engineer with the Alvin Group for 6 years, mainly with Skip Marquet and Arnold Sharp.

David Hosom is a Principal Engineer for the Physical Oceanography Department at WHOI. He specializes in Systems engineering, project management, and electrical design for ocean related instrumentation; electrical power systems for underwater vehicles, buoys, and ships. His special interest is low power, high reliability, accuracy, flexibility, and modular designs for instrumentation.

Received from Arnold Sharp, Senior Engineer in the AOPE department, on July 29, 1998 as acc.1998-16.
First-level processing completed by Marisa Hudspeth on December 4, 1998. The papers were removed from the rest of the material in acc.1998-16 and processed as a separate collection.
