Biographical Information
Frederick deWolf Pingree was born in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1902. He attended Harvard University, and received his A.B. from Ohio State University in 1940.
Pingree was a research associate in engineering at WHOI.

Custodial History
The custodial history of the collection is undocumented.
Acquisitions Information
The collection was received from Mrs. F. Pingree in November 1967.
Separated Material
A group of life raft charts were discarded because they had become brittle and the pages had fused together, making the charts unreadable.
Several books were also removed from the collection. See control file for complete list.
