Biographical Information
Keith von der Heydt is a Principal Engineer in the Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering department at WHOI. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1971. His research interests include development of data acquisition and telemetry techniques with emphasis on hydroacoustic measurements; high speed data acquisition systems; floating point amplifier designs; acoustic navigation tracking of subsurface instrumentation; lower power signal processing hardware and software for instrumentation applications.

Overview
The Keith von der Heydt papers date from 1984-2007 and consist of notes, schematics, designs, correspondence and other material related to ATOC, CEAREX, ASIAEX and a number of other projects von der Heydt worked on as an engineer in the AOPE department.
Custodial History
The papers had been stored in three-ring binders in von der Heydt's office in Bigelow 306-A prior to their transfer to the archives.
Acquisitions Information
Received from Keith von der Heydt on September 25, 2014 as acc2014-24.
Separated Material
A 3M Scotch brand magnetic tape viewer in a wooden case was also received with the papers, and was added to the Historical Instruments collection.
Processing Information
The papers were removed from their binders and rehoused in acid-free folders. Folders were arranged by project and a folder listing was created by David Sherman on September 25-26, 2014.
