William G. Metcalf papers
Scope and Content Note
Gerry wrote an extensive set of primarily cruise historical compilations drawn completely from observations maintained in personal logs. These compilations represent a unique and interesting insight into life as a Physical Oceanographer working at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution from 1946 through his retirement in 1979 and continuing on through his final cruise in 1984. There are also electronic copies of the compilations and an extensive series of photographs from several of the cruises represented in the compilations.
